Sefaira course students received honorable mentions in Architecture design competition

Students Isabela Moura and Bruno Moleta together with Professor Karina Pimentel, both participants of the Sefaira course, formed a team to participate at the 13th Competition of the Brazilian Steel Construction Center (Centro Brasileiro de Construção em Aço – CBCA) for Architecture Students.

The team chose the thematic ‘Solution for Sustainable Cities and Communities’ to develop the architecture project. The solution consisted of Cine São João revitalization, a street cinema opened in 1960 in the central area of Curitiba that went bankrupt in 2006, and whose building nowadays hosts a church. The project conceived has movie theaters, spaces for activities that engage body & mind, and interactive public spaces, as the main objective was to establish possibilities of entertainment and well-being for the elderly population of the city.

They worked profoundly to achieve greater results with sustainable strategies, supported by the energy efficiency simulation process reached after the learning process of the Sefaira program.

The team’s project was happily awarded the honorable mentions to the competition. More about that is also available here.
